Danish Nazi approach to immigration wants to strip refugees of valuables

Denmark, billed as a “free society”, is considering forcing refugees heading there to give up their belongings, but they just might be able to save their wedding rings

As if the Danish “Don’t come here” ads written in Arabic over summer weren’t enough, the country is now seeking to strip refugees of their valuable items in a scheme to fund the cost of a migrant resettlement program.

Denmark’s Parliament debated the measure that would allow border police to strip search and confiscate all valuables and cash that refugees brought in with them worth over 300 euros to help offset the cost of resettlement reported Swedish STV.

Following the debate, the more humane side of Danish Parliament triumphed and lawmakers grudgingly agreed that refugees would be able to keep their wedding rings though at least one Danish MP reportedly insisted that even these be measured and taken if over a certain value.

To most it sounds heartless, but Denmark’s Immigration Minister Sören Pind says that it was the only way in which the country could afford to house the refugees flooding the country. Of course, he clarified that only items of value would be taken and not trinkets with sentimental worth. “I’m talking about a situation in which a man comes along with a case full of diamonds and asks for protection in Denmark. That’s only fair,” he told Danish TV.

Danish Conservative Party Integration Commissioner Naser Khader told the press that it is “unacceptable for Danish taxpayers to pay for asylum seekers who brought wealth with them.”
