Development Minister Dendias on nonperforming loans

He underlined that the technical details will be finalized after the troika’s visit at the end of September or by early October

Speaking on Vima radio station on Wednesday, Development Minister Nikos Dendias noted that the Greek Government has reached an agreement in principle with troika regarding the non-performing loans.

Mr. Dendias underlined that the technical details will be finalized after the troika’s visit at the end of September or by early October.

The Development Minister said that, although an agreement has been reached in principle, there is a big debate about the technicalities, which is welcomed “as long as the opinions which are heard are serious and use valid arguments.”

Mr. Dendias stressed that this is a crucial issue for Greece which requires transparency. “There will be a settlement, first for business and then for home loans. However, there is no point in giving a specific percentage, because it will depend on each case separately,” he explained.
