With their hands tied up outside the Ministry of Health, the cleaners of Dromokaitio Mental Hospital are protesting against the underfunding of the hospital.
The employees claim that they have not been paid for over five months, while their union claims that the hospital lacks not only medical supplies, but also basic items, too.
The money is not enough, says the president of the union adding that “We have to choose: either we will pay the employees or feed the patients.”
Moreover, he claimed that “if cleaners get sick, they have to pay themselves for their substitute.”
