Entry into Greece allowed for people with active European vaccination certificate from February 7

Unvaxxed health workers would not be allowed to return to their posts, the Health Minister said

The Greek Minister of Health Thanos Plevris announced on Friday that entry into Greece will be allowed without a mandatory test for travellers who have the European vaccination certificate from Monday, February 7.

Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias characterised the decision of the Ministry of Health to lift the obligation to conduct tests for citizens with an active European Covid certificate as a step to strengthen the tourist flows to the country. The decision follows a series of measures that, according to market participants, make it easier for potential visitors to plan their trip to Greece.

Plevris: What applies to the vaccinated health workers

Meanwhile, the Health Minister said that the suspended health workers who remained unvaccinated (3rd booster) would remain outside the National Health System (NHS).

“For those health workers who have not been vaccinated, the suspension of the contract expires on March 31. On March 31, the Government will either extend this deadline or say that vaccination is a prerequisite for someone to offer their services to the NSS. No decision has been made yet, however, my suggestion is that whoever is not vaccinated, can not be in the NHS.”
