English subtitles for Epidaurus ancient theater festival events last year went down well with foreign crowds whose enjoyment was maximized through understanding. This year, there will also be subtitles for the performances:

July 3-4:  National Theatre of Greece – Sotiris Chatzakis “The Trojan Women” by EURIPIDES

July 10-11:  Yiannis Kakleas “The Acharnians” by ARISTOPHANES  

July 17-18: Neos Kosmos Theatre – Vangelis Theodoropoulos «Ajax» by SOPHOCLES

July 24-25: Japanese Noh Theatre– Michael Marmarinos “Nekyia” performance, which is based on the Book 11 of Homer’s Odyssey, will be presented in Japanese with Greek & English subtitles

July 31-August 1:  National Theatre of Greece – Giannis Bezos “The Ecclesiazusae” (Assemblywomen) by ARISTOPHANES

August 28-29:  Horos Theatre Company – Simos Kakalas “Orestes” by EURIPIDES
