EU to start procedures for the ‘severing’ ties with UK on Sunday

ECB prepared to deal with negative impact on Euro

The EU Foreign Ministers’ aides, without the presence of the UK for the first time, will meet Sunday to discuss the manner in which the union will proceed with the ‘break off’ of the UK, after Thursday night’s referendum vote. The meeting will take place at 3.30pm (Greek time), and will focus on laying out the framework for negotiations with the UK, while European Council President, Donald Tusk is scheduled to visit Paris and Berlin on the sidelines of the meeting and contact the heads of state of France and Germany before Tuesday’s crucial Summit Meeting. European sources says the EU institutions were prepared for such an outcome, while the European Central Bank (ECB) has also taken precautionary measures to avoid any negative effects on the Euro.
