Farmers continue blocking the roads

Greek government seems to be worried about farmers’ persistence and the massive protest rallies

The Greek farmers continue their protest actions at the blockades set all over Greece aiming to make the government withdraw the proposed social security, pension and tax reforms.

After the two massive protest rallies in the center of Athens the farmers returned to their position at the blockades they have set throughout Greece. They will decide on their next move at the meetings scheduled to be hold tomorrow.

The Greek government seems to be worried about farmers’ persistence and the massive protest rallies with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras having an extraordinary meeting on Saturday night with Labour Minister Giorgos Katrougalos and Minister of Rural Development Vangelis Apostolou Vangelis Development where they talked about the farmers issue and social security reform.

The government seems unable to deal with farmers’ protest and with vague promises for corrections to the draft law the government and Prime Minister hope that farmers will put an end to their protest actions.
