Farmers to submit their demands to gov’t

“We will not have a meeting with the Prime Minister” farmers’ representative said

The Greek farmers have scheduled meetings at the blockades set all over Greece to decide on their next moves and protest actions following the two massive protest rallies held in Athens.

In the meantime, the farmers decided to close the Athens-Thessaloniki motorway at Tempi Valley indefinitely  started from Sunday noon, while they are still waiting to receive an invitation for a dialogue by the government to discuss the proposals submitted by the farmers of the blockades of Tempi Valley and Mikrothives.

Today, a delegation of farmers will submit the list with their basic requests to the government at Maximos Mansion and the party offices.

“We will not have a meeting with the Prime Minister. We will submit our requests and we will leave. We give a 48-hour deadline to the government to answer on our demands  and we will then decide on our future stance,” said Dimitris Dimogiannis, farmer of Pamfthiotikos Farmers Association.
