Fines of 305,000 euros on loans and credit management companies

The Ministry of Development imposed fines totaling €305,000 on three debt and credit management companies for violations of the law. These fines were imposed after complaints were investigated by the Directorate General for Market and Consumer Protection of the General Secretariat for Trade. Specifically, doValue Greece S.A. was fined €65,000 for various violations, including unfair and misleading practices in the provision of information to borrowers and offensive behavior by a company representative.

In addition, QQuant Master Servicer S.A. was fined €60,000 and €90,000 for unfair business practices, such as unjustified delays in processing borrower requests and failure to respond to borrower requests. Finally, a fine of € 90,000 was imposed on Cepal Hellas S.A. for violations in connection with responding to borrower applications and processing applications for payment certificates.

Development Minister Kostas Skrekas emphasized that the government is determined to ensure compliance with the law by debt collection companies and that unfair practices are unacceptable. From September 2023 to date, fines totaling €1,825,000 have been imposed on debt management companies.
