First Falcon 8x debuts in Greece

Athens, Greece-based Amjet offers fleet management, charter, sales and maintenance/repair services

Dassault Aviation has delivered its first Falcon 8X ultra-long-range business jet to Greek business aviation services provider and long-time Falcon operator Amjet Executive. The 5th October handover at Dassault’s Bordeaux-Mérignac final assembly facility comes four months after the manufacturer’s flagship aircraft secured US and European certification. The validations followed a month-long global test campaign, which was designed, says the French airframer, to ensure the aircraft systems “would be fully mature and operational from day one”. Athens, Greece-based Amjet offers fleet management, charter, sales and maintenance/repair services and operates a fleet of Falcon jets, including the Falcon 50, 900EX EASy and 7X. Amjet president Abakar Manany, who is a pilot and was at the controls for the delivery flight, said the 8X has “remarkable handling and piloting qualities,” as well as “superb performance and cabin comfort.”Amjet president Abakar Manany, who was at the controls for the delivery flight, says of the new addition: “Its superb performance and cabin comfort will allow us to fill an ever wider range of needs and missions for our exceptionally demanding clientele.” The Athens-headquartered company also operates a super-midsize Falcon 50, large-cabin Falcon 900EX and a long-range 7X.
Dassault is now preparing several more 8Xs for delivery “in the coming weeks”. Sixteen units are being outfitted at its US completion centre in Little Rock, Arkansas, and a further 11 aircraft are in final assembly in Bordeaux, it says.
