Five detainees escape from Pirgos police station

The escapees include four Greeks and a Pakistani national

Five detainees escaped from a detention room at the Pirgos police station, in the Peloponnese, at dawn on Sunday, after breaking open a window with the use of a crowbar.

According to reports, the five detainees, four Greeks aged 25, 21, 17, 14 and a Pakistani national aged 27, had asked to be allowed to go to the toilet and their request was granted.

At that moment, a woman who was outside the detention room premises fainted. When the police rushed to help her, however,  they heard a loud noise from inside. Going back inside they saw that the detainees had broken open the window with a crowbar and had escaped, jumping over the fence.
