Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias clarified that there is no possibility of joint Greek-Turkish patrols in the Aegean to confront the refugee issue while speaking to Alpha radio station on Thursday.

“That would mean Turkish ships entering our territorial waters something that would have long-term consequences,” he added.

Foreign Minister’s clear statement was a clear response to president of the European Committee Jean-Claude Juncker who proposed the cooperation between Greece and Turkey under the EU auspices to control the gateway to Europe while addressing the European Parliament on Wednesday.
