Foreign Minister Venizelos talks by phone with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus

The talks focused on the next steps in response to the Turkish provocations in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone.

According to an official announcement issued by the Greek Foreign Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos had extensive telephone talks today, Tuesday, 7 October, with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides.

The talks focused on the next steps in response to the Turkish provocations in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone.

It should also be noted that, according to information, President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades decided earlier on Tuesday to terminate the participation of the Greek Cypriot side in the negotiations for the solution of the Cyprus issue, until the situation relating to the Turkish provocations is reassessed.
