Formidable violinist Leonidas Kavakos and pianist Yuja Wang to perform in Athens tonight

Renowned Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos won on the special Artist of the Year accolade at this year’s Gramophone Classical Music Awards

On Tuesday 14th at 20.30, the Athens Concert Hall presents Leonidas Kavakos and Yuja Wang in a night of classical music.

Two talented artists of the international music scene, Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos and Chinese pianist Yuja Wang present three legendary sonatas by Johannes Brahms:

– Sonata no 1 in G major, opus 78
– Sonata no 2 in A major, opus 100
– Sonata no 3 in d minor, opus 108

Renowned Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos won the special Artist of the Year accolade at this year’s Gramophone Classical Music Awards, held at St. Johns Smith Square, London, on September 17. It should be noted that this Award was introduced in 2010 and is the only Gramophone Award to be decided by public vote internationally. The Previous winners of this prestigious award are Alison Balsom, Joseph Calleja, Gustavo Dudamel and Joyce DiDonato.
