Four inflatable boats with 150 illegal immigrants attempted to enter Greece waters from Turkey

The entry of almost 600 illegal immigrants was stopped yesterday by the Greek authorities – New attempts again today by Turkey

The Hellenic Coast Guard prevented again today four inflatables from crossing into Greek territorial waters from Turkey.

The four boats were carrying a total of 150 illegal immigrants.

Coast Guard officials stated to protothema.gr that yesterday’s attempt was nothing more than a routine night.

The islands of Samos, Chios and Lesvos were fully prepared for such actions after yesterday’s events, where the entry of five sailing ships and four inflatables with 590 illegal immigrants was prevented.

The Coast Guard was prepared at night for a new wave with more boats from the Turkish coast.

According to the announcement issued yesterday by the Coast Guard, “no boat entered Greek territorial waters”.

In fact, it was mentioned in the announcement that “there was an incident of an attempt to ram a HCG vessel by one of the smugglers’ boats, which then returned to the opposite Turkish shores”.
