France: 1,000 flights cancelled due to air traffic controller strike

The union is demanding wage increases and staff hiring

Around 1,000 flights have been cancelled in France today, due to a warning strike by air traffic controllers.

The announcement was made by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) on Thursday.

DGAC on Tuesday asked the airlines to reduce their routes by 50% due to this strike, which has been called by the largest union of air traffic controllers demanding wage increases and staff hiring.
