Frustrated Greek Minister Pappas stops interview twice with German TV (video)

Pappas tries to change meaning of word ‘sunbathe’

Greek Minister of State, and PM Alexis Tsipras’s close associate, Nikos Pappas felt the ‘heat’ during the recording of his interview with journalist Michel Friedman of German TV Deutsche Welle. Nikos Pappas was forced to cut the host of the popular German TV show ‘Conflict Zone’ twice after he let his frustration get the better of him, following a question regarding the meaning of the word ‘sunbathe’ used in the past by former Migration Minister Tasia Christodoulopoulou to describe the whereabouts of refugees in Athens. Friedman asked for Pappas’s comment on the use of the word ‘sunbathe’ by Christodoulopoulou. Pappas disputed the word was correctly translated, but when the journalist said she herself had agreed that it meant what the transcript said he was adamant and finally asked for the interview to stop. Pappas attempted desperately to introduce a ‘new’ interpretation of the word ‘sunbathe’ to justify its use by the former Migration Minister.
