German Chancellor Olaf Scholz booed by citizens in open talk (videos)

The Chancellor faced harsh criticism from the disgruntled citizens

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was booed and jeered during a citizens’ dialogue on Wednesday evening in Neuruppin. On the school square, he faced the questions of 200 residents – and loud protest.

There were more than 200 registrations in advance for the citizens’ dialogue with the Chancellor in Neuruppin. The discussion event on Wednesday evening was well attended and anything but a peaceful chat about current government policy. Two protest actions had already been announced in advance, and there were loud whistles against the chancellor.

Olaf Scholz currently has to answer questions from citizens all over Brandenburg, now it was Neuruppin’s turn. The fact that it could be uncomfortable was already announced on social media: there were calls to disturb the event with noise. In addition, there was a risk of resentment over the current gas levy and rising energy costs.
