Government gives 6-month extension for lodging land registry documents

The amendment was tabled by 13 SYRIZA MPs

The Greek government has granted a six-month extension for citizens to lodge all the necessary documentation regarding the land registry after it accepted an amendment submitted by 13 SYRIZA MPs.

Deputy Environment Minister Yiannis Dimaras admitted that the pace of submission of documents in relation to land and property registry was proceeding at an extremely slow pace, as only 15% of the set total coverage of land registry submissions had been met on average. He explained that the amendment allowed the competent minister to extend the deadline for the submission of supporting documents for up to six months.
