Commenting on the statements made today by MP Pavlos Haikalis, a deputy for Independent Greeks (ANEL) and popular Greek actor who claimed that he was offered two-to-three million euros to vote for Greek president, Government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi characterized these allegations as “a despicable story”.

Ms. Voultepsi underlined that, for reasons of public interest, all available evidence that support these allegations must be immediately released.

“If there is no proof, justice must take action against those who fabricated this despicable story.”
