Greece: Big fire in a hotel in Crete

There are no reports of people trapped

A fire broke out shortly after 5:00 pm in a hotel in the Kokkini Hani area, Hersonissos Municipality, Grete.

Thick smoke was coming from the multi-storey complex.

Strong forces of the Heraklion Fire Service rushed to the scene.

It should be noted that the first reports spoke of a large fire, however, it was later reported that there was only smoke.

At the moment the information is not clear, however, there are no reports of people trapped as from the first moment the alarm was raised the officials made sure to evacuate the hotel.

6 fire engines with 18 firefighters are operating at the scene.
