Greece: Fire in Markopoulos

4 aircraft and 4 helicopters are operating – No houses are threatened

A fire broke out at noon on Thursday (6/7) in a forest area in Markopoulos Oropou.

The fire front is far from homes, however, the mobilization of the Fire Brigade was fast in order to bring the fire under control before it spreads.

At the same time, the Traffic Police has stopped traffic in the Malakasas – Markopoulou highway, from the height of its intersection with N.E.O.A.L. and on Agias Kyriakis Street from the height of Polydendriou Stadium, in the Markopoulos-Oropou traffic stream.
