Greece has the highest unemployment rate in Europe

The lowest rates were recorded in Germany and the Czech Republic

The unemployment rate in the euro zone and EU fell in December for the 15th month running to its lowest level in a little more than four years, according to data published by European statistics agency Eurostat.

In December 2015, unemployment rate in euro zone fell to 10.4%, while unemployment rate in EU fell to 9%.

Statistics agency Eurostat said the number of people out of work decreased by 49,000 to a total of 16.75 million. The last time unemployment was lower was October 2011. As a result, the unemployment rate fell from 10.5% to 10.4%, which is its lowest since September 2011.

Despite the positive signals, though, Greece is again on the top of the unemployment rate list with 24.5%, followed by Spain with 20.8% and Croatia with 16.5%, while the lowest rates were recorded in Germany and the Czech Republic with 4.5%, and Malta with 5.1%.
