Greek beer wins Silver Star at the European Beer Star competition

The event was held for the 11th time in 2014 and focused mainly on special, authentic beers.

A beer produced on the island of Tinos, located in the northern side of the Cyclades, has been awarded the Silver Star at the prestigious European Beer Star, one of the most significant beer competitions anywhere in the world.

The event was held for the 11th time in 2014 and focused mainly on special, authentic beers. 42 countries from all continents participated in the contest with a total of 1613 beers. 105 brew masters, beer sommeliers and specialized journalists from 25 countries participated in the blind-tasting process to evaluate the beers on the basis of color, aroma, head and taste. These experts decided to award Nissos, a product of the Tinos-based Cyclades Microbrewery, the Silver Star in the “Bohemian Style Pilsner” category.
