Eurostat: Greek GDP shrinks 0.4% in 1st quarter

Eurozone growth up by 1.5% annually

The Greek economy shrank by 0.4% of GDP in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the corresponding term in 2015, according to Eurostat data released. Spain recorded the largest growth with 0.8% of GDP, followed Germany (0.7%), France (0.5%) and Italy (0.3%) on a 3-monthly basis. The aggregate Eurozone growth rose by a half a percentage point over the quarter, while it saw a 1.5% rise on annual basis.
