Greek govt celebrates Eurogroup’s recognition of progress

No 2-bln-euro tranche, but the Greek govt gives itself a pat on the back anyway

Government sources were pleased by the Eurogroup’s recognition on progress made in the implementation of the Greek program and confirmed the positive climate of the previous days.

The same sources said that the 2-billion-euro loan tranche benchmarked for Greece is ready and waiting to be disbursed over the coming days, along with the 10 billion euros for the recapitalization of the country’s banks.

Outstanding issues are expected to close over the next few days in Athens during the negotiations with the representatives of the institutions and will be approved in an emergency meeting of the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) at the start of next week, say Greek sources.
