Greek men convicted for joking about carrying a bomb at Danish airport

The court barred the men from entering Denmark for six years

A Danish court has sentenced two Greeks to three months in prison — two of which are suspended — for making jokes that caused the evacuation of Copenhagen’s international airport terminal for an hour, just five days after the Paris attacks.

The court said on Wednesday that the men, whose names were not revealed based on a court order, were guilty of causing “groundless alarm”, while both of them pleaded not guilty.

Also, the court barred the men from entering Denmark for six years.

It all started when an employee at check-in counter heard them saying “there is a bomb in this bag” causing to the evacuation of the airport and delays to nearly 60 flights.
