Greek MoD Dendias meets Lloyd Austin in Germany – Greek-US defence ties on the table

Dendias reaffirmed Greece’s humanitarian and defence assistance to Ukraine

Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Tuesday, during his presence at Ramstein Air Base, in the framework of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting. As the Greek minister said on Twitter, “We discussed the further deepening of the Strategic Defence Relationship between Greece and the US”.

“I met today in #Ramstein, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine, with US @SecDef Lloyd Austin. We discussed further deepening the Strategic Defense Relationship between Greece and the US.”

At the same time, Dendias reaffirmed, among other things, Greece’s consistent and unwavering stance in support of Ukraine and its territorial integrity against the Russian invasion.

In another post, Dendias said: “The invasion is in flagrant violation of international law and endangers the security and stability of Europe.”

“I also referred”, he underlines, “to our country’s humanitarian and defence assistance to Ukraine and stressed that Greece will remain at the side of the Ukrainian people, providing all possible assistance for as long as it is needed.”
