The Ministry of Education announced the number of candidates admitted to tertiary education through fro Greek university entrance exams for the academic year 2024-2025 According to the ministerial decision that was published in the Government Gazette, this year’s candidates will be 68,851.
Noted is an increase of 277 admission compared to last year’s 68,574 positions. It is perceived that out of the 277 applications 100 are allocated to the new Psychology department of the Democritus University of Thrace. This year’s exams commence on May 31, 2024, with the compulsory subject of Modern Greek Language, and Literature.
On Tuesday, June 4, the exam schedule is as follows: Ancient Greek (Humanities Orientation Group), Mathematics (Science and Economics & Informatics Studies Group), and Biology (Health Studies Group).
On Thursday, June 6, the examined subjects are: Latin (Humanities Studies Group), Chemistry (Science and Health Studies Group), and Informatics (Economics & Informatics Studies Group). Due to the European elections taking place on June 9, entrance exams will end on Wednesday, June 12. Exams in elective subjects are scheduled to take place between June 18 and June 28, 2024.

In the trials for admission to the Departments of Physical Education and Sports Science, the 400m Run trial is replaced by the 200m Run trial for boys participating in practical exams. Additionally, in this year’s computerized form, in the Scientific Field of Physical Sciences, the Department of Materials Science and Technology (Heraklion) of the University of Crete is renamed to Materials Science and Engineering (Heraklion).
