Greek volunteers of the Crisis Management Team (ODIK) have joined the rescue fight in Turkey.

Eighteen trained members of ODIK, with the necessary equipment, are going to the scene of the disaster in Gadzidep, Turkey to help in the rescue and recovery efforts.

The purpose of ODIK is the voluntary offer of assistance in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of mass disasters such as earthquakes, extensive floods, natural disasters, forest fires, etc., in the search and rescue of people from aviation, mountaineering, maritime and other accidents in general, as well as and the provision or management of humanitarian aid inside and outside the Greek borders.
