Idomeni refugee camp: Gov’t prepares a ‘military-type’ evacuation

The government insists that police will not use force to evacuate the camp

The evacuation operation that is in progress in Idomeni reminds of a military operation, with riot police squads being deployed to Idomeni refugee camp to help to relocate 12,000 refugees and migrants to organised hotspots throughout Greece.

The photos released exclusively by www.protothema.gr show dozens of coaches being lined up around the area where refugees have set their tents.

According to information, the refugees were not willing to get on the coaches and leave Idomeni’s camp. However, the government insists that police will not use force to evacuate the camp, but they have not, though, clarified how they will persuade the refugees to leave the camp and being transferred to the hotspots.
