If government adopted Loverdos’s view, then more ministers would start demanding changes

The Prime Minister was more interested in closing the issue with the laid-off university administrators caused by the new minister of Education than to fulfil the 12 prerequisites set by the chief of Euroworking Group in order to disburse the tranche of May!

“If government adopted Loverdos’s view, then more ministers would start demanding changes” said a government source who accompanied Prime Minister Antonis Samaras in Portugal explaining the persistence of the government to meet the timetable set by the Minister of Administrative Reform Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding the temporary layoffs and redundancies of employees of public sector.

The issue was closed after the meeting between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras amd Vice President Evangelos Venizelos on Sunday afternoon.

The same source explained that the number of university administrators who are temporary laid-off could not be increased from 600 to 880.

In fact, the government official said jokingly that the Prime Minister was more interested in closing the issue with the laid-off university administrators caused by the new minister of Education than to fulfil the 12 prerequisites set by the chief of Euroworking Group in order to disburse the tranche of May.

Mr. Samaras, though. after his meeting with Mr Schaueble seemed to be worried about the fact that he might be forced to change his policy for restoring the injustices.
