Illegal immigrants in rudderless boat spotted near Kos

A rudderless motorboat with 34 illegal immigrants was spotted in the early morning hours today by a Hellenic Coast Guard patrol boat in the sea area of Agios Fokas in Kos.

The migrants include 26 men, four women, three boys and one girl. All were safely transported to the port of Kos, while the four minors were taken to Kos General Hospital for first aid, where they were discharged.

A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the relevant Port Authority, while the dinghy sank.
