Independent Greeks party rules out cooperation with New Democracy

Following a proposal by ND MP Adonis Georgiadis for a “broader faction”

Through an announcement issued on Tuesday, the Independent Greeks party dismissed all prospects of cooperating with ruling New Democracy, following a proposal by ND MP Adonis Georgiadis for a “broader faction” that would include the Independent Greeks party, as well as the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) party led by George Karatzaferis.

In the announcement, the Independent Greeks party states that New Democracy has stooped to a new low in addressing an “invitation to the extremes”, harking back to a statement by former ND leader Kostas Karamanlis and his refusal to cooperate with LAOS with the phrase “I won’t converse with the extremes”.
