Terrorists’ target was Belgian nuclear plant

Haaretz reports authorities were aware of a possible terror attack at the airport or metro station

New information brought to light reveals that the initial target of the terrorists responsible for the deadly attacks in Brussels was Belgian nuclear plant.

According to Belgian news website DH, terrorists were forced to act more quickly because they knew that police would soon find them. Their target was Belgium’s nuclear plants, while during the investigations, authorities found videos recording the actions of nuclear power plant director.

Moreover Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports authorities and counter-terrorism units were aware of a possible terror attack at the airport or metro station. According to the journalist of the newspaper, Belgian authorities did not investigate in depth the information and details they had on the possible attacks.

According to police, one of Brussels airport attackers, Ibrahim El Bakraoui, is dead, while the second suicide bomber who triggered the explosives at Brussels airport is Nazim Lachraoui. According to Belgian police sources, his DNA was found at the scene of the explosion.

However, the person who is seen standing on the right of El Bakraoui  has not been identified yet.

Regarding the brother of Ibrahim El Bakraoui, Karim El Bakraoui, authorities are certain that he blew himself up when he triggered the explosives he was carrying at Brussels metro station.
