Commenting on the stance of elected local administration officials who are affiliated to main opposition SYRIZA party, and reject the crosschecking of municipal employees’ files for irregularities, Interior Minister Argyris Dinopoulos underlined on Friday that “the law must be observed.”

Mr. Dinopoulos stressed that local administration is financed with the taxpayers’ money and added that transparency and crosschecks will be beneficial for everybody.

The Interior Minister also said that since his appointment he made the commitment to ensure “labor peace” in the sector of local administration.
