IT Director of the Albanian Intelligence Service arrested with 58 kg of drugs

Two other people were also arrested

The IT director of the Intelligence Service (AKSHI) of Albania, Erisa Fero, was arrested with other accomplices while attempting to smuggle 58 kg of drugs from Kortsa to the border with North Macedonia.

The authorities of Pogradec, in cooperation with those of Korça, arrested the AKSHI official and seized 58 kilograms of cannabis which, according to local media, came from the Shkodra region, where people from Fusa Kruja and Kortsa are allegedly involved.

“From the investigations carried out, it appears that the three citizens had carried out the smuggling of narcotics from the city of Tirana in the direction of the Qafë Thanë area on the border with North Macedonia”, said the police of Korça today.

The police operation took place in the Qafë-Thanë area, near a restaurant with Erisa Fero driving the vehicle that transported the drugs. The two other individuals in the car were identified as Likmend Basha, the son of a businessman from Fushe-Kruja, and a 17-year-old with the initials MK. Police are still looking for two people, a 30-year-old and a 28-year-old who managed to escape from the scene.
