List of reforms to be discussed on Monday night

The government council met and discussed various matters

The ‘marathon’ discussion of the government council included subjects such as the Eurogroup decision of Friday, the possibilities it entails, as well as the list of reforms to be sent by the government on Monday.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis briefed the government council members fully, while many ministers asked on the climate of the discussions in Brussels. Government spokesman Gabriel Sakellarides told journalists that there will be more negotiations taking place in the next Eurogroup. He underlined that the reforms being discussed are of a structural nature and will be discussed with partners as well. He also reiterated that there is no possibility of following down a path set by the previous government.

FinMin Yanis Varoufakis appeared optimistic, having mentioned that “the formation of the reforms list will be completed today and sent to our partners”. Earlier, Mr. Tsipras had stated that “the government is in constant talks with its partners. The list of reforms will be formed this weekend and sent on Monday”.

The government has sent an outline of the proposition to the European partners in order to initiate a back-and-forth before the official tabling of the proposal which will take place on Monday
