A horrific incident occurred on Thursday morning in the east Athens district of Vyronas, when a man — allegedly suffering from mental issues — threw a baby off a roof of a building before jumping off himself.

According to preliminary information, the four-month-old baby was his sister’s, who left it in his care when she went out to buy groceries.

Immediately after the tragic incident, the infant girl was taken to a nearby children’s hospital, where she died soon after.

The man was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
