In an interview with German newspaper Die Welt, Martin Schulz, the president of the European Parliament, accused on Wednesday Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel of engaging in irresponsible speculation, regarding the possibility of Greece exiting the euro zone.
More specifically, Mr. Schulz said that the scenarios of a possible Grexit if main opposition SYRIZA wins the upcoming elections on January 25 are not helpful.
The European Parliament President underlined that the arbitrary advice given to the Greek voters by European officers make them feel that Brussels or Berlin are trying to control their future, thus pushing more voters into the open arms of radical forces.
