Meeting between Culture Minister Tassoulas and Amal Alamuddin underway

Ms Alamuddin-Clooney will stay in Athens until October 16 and tomorrow she will meet Prime Minister Antonis Samaras

A meeting between Culture Minister Constantinos Tassoulas and human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin-Clooney is currently underway.

Ms Alamuddin-Clooney visited Greece accompanied by two British lawyers to provide the Greek government with legal advice on its efforts for the return of the Parthenon Marbles.

The secretary general of the Culture Ministry Lina Mendoni, the director of the New Acropolis Museum Dimitris Pantermanlis as well as the head of the Ephorate of Private Archaeological Collections participate in the meeting.

Culture Minister welcomed Ms Alamuddin-Clooney. They first chatted briefly while she thanked him for the warm welcome. They talked about the Greek islands and the minister said to Ms. Alamuddin-Clooney that he was unable to visit the Greek islands this summer due to workload, while she mentioned that she would like to visit Greek islands in the future.

Ms Alamuddin-Clooney and her colleagues stays at Grande Bretagne at separate suites of 120 sq.m.

On Monday night she dined at the roof garden of the hotel and she asked her menu to include vegetables and fruits, while she also expressed the desire to taste Greek dishes and Greek wine.

According to reports, after today’s meeting a lunch will be followed in the restaurant “Varoulko” at Mikrolimano. Also, it should be noted that Ms Alamuddin-Clooney visit in Greece has drawn the attention of the international media.

Ms Alamuddin-Clooney will stay in Athens until October 16, whereas tomorrow she will meet Prime Minister Antonis Samaras at Maximos mansion and a tour at Acropolis Museum will follow.
