‘Minerva Red’: Timelapse video of the African dust that ‘choked’ Athens

It was the controversial weekend when the African dust ‘choked’ many parts of the country, painting the sky orange and making the atmosphere suffocating.

In the area of Sirte in Libya the shallow low, moving towards Greece, carried very large quantities of African dust, making the air quality very difficult, creating an eerie scene with orange skies.
