An article published in the Indian edition of Wall Street Journal describes Modi, a private Greek island located in the Ionian Sea that is up for sale, as a bargain, costing only $1.5 million.
More specifically, the beautiful lush green island is characterized by real estate agents as “an ideal opportunity for a solid business investment with unlimited possibilities.”
Sharing its name with India’s current prime minister, Modi Island covers an area of 51-acres and is very close to the island of Ithaca, mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey.
Modi Island is listed on a real-estate website since February 2012 and although Greek private islands rarely come up for sale, as they usually are passed on from one generation to the next, due to the new levy “island ownership has become an unaffordable luxury for those who had inherited the land,” says the newspaper.
