After a number of photos were released, including those showing German soldiers marching in front of the statue of the Lion of Amphipolis, the Company for the Study and Historical Research of Serres released a paper note featuring the Lion of Amphipolis that was issued on August 21, 1942, when Greece was still under German Occupation.
