The recent sexy photo shoot featuring Greek model Evi Adam, aged 42, and her two daughters, Nefeli and Danae, aged 15 and 13 years of age drew a storm of criticism. The divorced mother was accused of the sexualization of her daughters, while – in another camp – supporters argued that she was just a single mother trying to raise two girls as best she can.
Social media was abuzz, as were talk shows and panels. The shoot, for “You” magazine, dressed the young girls in silver jewels, sexy dresses and catsuits for the purposes of a catalogue for Karkalis jewelry stores. The shoot took place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and was to promote the jewelers Gold collection and Silver collection for younger clients.
The magazine made it clear that the girls don’t intend to follow their mother’s footsteps in the world of modeling. The eldest daughter wants to pursue studies in business whereas the younger daughter would like to be a musician like her father, Lambis Livieratos. What mattered, however, more to readers was the image of two young girls striking sexy poses with their mother and being flung to the public spotlight in this way.
The father was drawn to the debate when he received attacks on social media. He then felt the need to explain that he was unaware that the photoshoot had taken place until the photographs were published and that he was against the photoshoot.
The photoshoot is not the first time that Livieratos has objected to the environment in which his daughters are being raised. During the Erotic Art Festival, Evi Adam and Jane Sabanikou appeared at the event promoting erotic gadgets, the porn industry and live sex wearing phalluses on their noses. At the time, Livieratos could not fathom such an appearance by the mother of their two underaged girls.
The couple have been divorced since 2011 in a messy separation that included squabbles over finances as well as public accusations on the part of the mother concerning the father’s absence in his children’s lives especially during the time when he had been diagnosed with depression.
