Singing legend Natalie Cole, known for great hits as This Will Be and the Unforgettable, died on Thursday night at a hospital in Los Angeles from congestive heart failure according to TMZ.

“Natalie Cole, sister beloved & of substance and sound. May her soul rest in peace,” tweeted the Rev. Jesse Jackson on New Year’s Day.

She had been forced to cancel many recent concert appearances due to health problems, while she suffered from a number of health problems over the past decade, including liver disease and Hepatitis C.
