Temporary New Democracy leader Yiannis Plakiotakis on Tuesday attacked government spokeswoman Olga Gerovassili for her statements on whether there would be any further pension cuts.

“Mrs Gerovassili’s claim that there will be no reduction in main or supplementary pensions and the prospects of pensioners can only be a cause for mirth,” he said and accused her of tricking the Greek people with empty words.

He also challenged the spokeswoman and the government to explain why they had failed to fulfill a series of promises, including that of abolishing the memorandums and the ENFIA property tax.
