New Covid-19 measures specified by Health Minister Plevris target the unvaccinated

They are meant to curb the pandemic

Greek Minister of Health Thanos Plevris specified a series of measures in detail during a press conference stating that they were not aimed at restricting the activity of those who have been vaccinated, but those who have chosen not to be vaccinated.

“The National Health System (NHS) is under pressure, but it is holding. The ICUs that are operating have more than doubled, while ventilators and infrastructure have been provided so that, if necessary, intubation can take place, outside the ICU.”

“We have over 700 ICU beds from the private sector. In some areas, where there was particular pressure, the measure of ordering services was activated.”

As for vaccinations, the scheduled appointments exceed 900,000.”

The measures announced are targeted. There are three stages:

(a) Areas accessible to all (pharmacies, food supply),

(b) only for vaccinated or unvaccinated persons (retail, workplaces, places of worship). The workplaces will follow a rolling schedule that will start from 07:00 to 09:30, while there will be a change of hours in retail.

(c) indoor entertainment that will only be for the vaccinated (cinemas, theaters, gyms).

In addition, all minors will have a self-test where it is required and not a laboratory test.

From December 13, anyone over 60 should have taken the third dose to enjoy the benefits of being fully vaccinated.
