Bernie Harfleet and Donna Turtle Sarte have been sticking parts of dolls to the fence on their property near Auckland for the past two years which started as a joke, but they also hoped that it would make people think about issues like child poverty and abuse.

Mr Harfleet told Daily Mail Australia people who saw the fence had a mixed range of reactions.

Some people liked it, but others were offended.
