No lockdown with 73% of adults vaccinated, says Greek Health Minister

He said that any new measures would only concern the unvaccinated

Greek Health Minister Thanos Plevris ruled out the possibility of new measures for vaccinated people, adding that if necessary, any new measures would only concern the unvaccinated.

Speaking on Skai TV, the Minister of Health added that at the moment there was no thought of imposing rapid tests for the unvaccinated to enter supermarkets or basic necessities.

“We have taken specific measures, 90% of which concern non-vaccinated people, not punitive, but because they are in danger,” he clarified.

“When 73% of adults are vaccinated there will be no lockdowns. The National Health System (NHS) is not monothematic at the moment, as it serves both COVID and non-COVID incidents and that is why it is under pressure. We are at the peak of the fourth wave, the whole of Europe is under pressure and we are ahead in relation to other countries.”
